Personal Rclone

Terms of Service

Effective date: October 15, 2026

These terms describe use of Personal Rclone, an independently operated, single-user configuration of the open-source rclone tool, and its informational website at rclone.ioti-i.com.

Purpose and permitted use

This configuration is for its owner's personal access to Google Drive. It is not a public file-hosting service and does not offer registration, paid subscriptions, or access to other people's accounts. Use is limited to files and accounts the owner is authorized to access.

Authorization and file operations

The owner grants access through Google's OAuth authorization process. Depending on the permissions granted, rclone can list, download, create, modify, move, and delete Drive files. The owner is responsible for the operations they initiate and for access granted to local tools.

Local cache and backups

Files may be cached on the owner's computer, and saved changes may wait locally before upload. A mounted cloud folder and its cache are not an independent backup. The owner should maintain backups of important files and allow pending uploads to complete before removing cache data or credentials.

Availability and third-party services

Operation depends on the owner's computer, network connection, Google Drive, rclone, and valid authorization. Availability, uninterrupted access, and successful completion of every transfer are not guaranteed. Google Drive remains subject to Google's applicable terms and policies; rclone remains subject to its software license. This configuration is not endorsed by Google or the rclone project.

Privacy

The Privacy policy explains how Drive data, credentials, local cache, and website requests are handled. The informational website does not receive Google authorization tokens or Drive file contents.

Stopping use

The owner may stop using the configuration at any time, stop the local service, and revoke its access through Google Account connections. Removing access does not itself delete existing local copies or files stored in Google Drive.

Changes and contact

Updates to these terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. For questions, contact cyanyux@gmail.com.
